Derrick Brown, a 6’5″ 318 lb. defensive tackle from Auburn University is projected to be a top 10 pick in this year’s upcoming NFL Draft in Las Vegas. Brown has a monster season with the Tigers, with 55 tackles, including 33 solo tackles. He caused 2 fumbles and recorded 4 sacks. What is the Wonderlic?
The Wonderlic test has been a component of the NFL Scouting Combine for over 40 years. The test was originally used by legendary Cowboys coach Tom Landry as part of their player evaluation and was eventually adopted around the league. While there is still plenty of debate about the value of the Wonderlic, it still seems to make the headlines each year around the Combine and NFL Draft.

Brown, from Sugar Hill, Georgia, played high school football at Lanier High School. He was heavily recruited by Alabama and Georgia before picking Auburn. While Brown’s freshman season was a slow start, he had a productive sophomore year in 2017 with 56 total tackles, including 26 solo tackles. It is widely expected that Brown will start on an NFL defensive front next fall.
