New NFL Combine On Campus Format
If you are like most serious NFL fans, you know that the NFL combine for the draft is normally held in March, in Indianapolis. This year, when you go to do a Google search on when the exact dates are, you will find there isn’t one. The combine will not be held in one single location at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL has opted to not have the Draft combine in Indianapolis this year. Instead, colleges around the country are hosting pro days for the players that are seniors, or who have opted into the draft. It is being called the 2021 pro day circuit. At these events, scouts will conduct the usual combine workouts on NFL prospects on campus. Player interviews and psychological testing will be conducted virtually. Included in this will be the usual Wonderlic testing of NFL draft prospects. Medical testing will be done in-person but in a limited format. Videos from workouts are also going to be available for teams to watch and evaluate. Colleges and scouting staff from around the country are encouraged to collaborate to develop workout plans that are consistent across all of the pro days.
